In line with the celebration of the "National Disaster Consciousness Month" and as part of improving and widening the reach of our services to the Nagahanons, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) together with the Philippine Red Cross conducted a week-long training for Ambulance Management Operation on July 4-8, 2016.
This is to ensure that the CDRRMO can tap barangays which have their own ambulances in cases of disasters, accidents and training purposes. The training course included the following topics: Patient Assessment, Airway and Oxygen Management, Bleeding Control/ Shock Management, Immobilization/Traction Splinting, Spinal Immobilization, and Lifting and Moving a Patient.
The City Government believes that by training more first aiders, the amount of time to respond to accidents and disasters maybe lessened, thus lessening, if not avoiding casualties. The training also aims to create a sense of responsibility in the barangay level and encouraging them to enhance their own emergency response capability. (James Lee Garrido)
