With the aim to lessen lifestyle-related diseases, our City Health Office (CHO) led by City Health Officer Dr. Camille Peñalosa launched the Sugar Beats Club Program today, February 26, 2021 at the Barangay Langtad Covered Court, this city.

Sugar for diabetes and beats for hypertension, the club enjoins Nagahanons who have these lifestyle-related diseases to enroll as club members. Sugar Beats Club members will be entitled to a membership card which will serve as their monitoring card, at the same time as a booklet that enables them to avail of free maintenance medicines.

The Sugar Beats Club will also be launched in other 3 pilot barangays with high prevalence of the said diseases, namely: Tinaan, Tuyan and Alpaco. This is based on the survey conducted by the CHO late last year.
