Aligned to the City Government’s commitment to improve rice production and productivity, 54 Nagahanon rice farmers from Barangay Alpaco received farm inputs through the Office of the City Agriculturist on June 1 and 2, 2021.

A total of 70 bags of urea, 113 bags complete fertilizer, 185 packs of Bio-N (seed conditioner), 25 packs of Resbak pesticide and 29 bags of hybrid rice seeds of TH-82 variety was provided.

Beneficiaries are duly registered farmers in the Registry System of Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and are cultivating .5 to 1 hectare of rice paddy.

9 Nagahanon farmers also received their indemnity checks from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) for claims on their corn and livestock.

This afternoon, 34 farmers from 6 barangays who committed to adapt the organic way of growing vegetables also received inputs to sustain the first cropping for this year.

Mayor Kristine and City Councilor Hon. Justino Dakay who also chairs the SP Committee on Agriculture led the said turnover at the Lutac Covered Court. These farmers cultivate at least .25 hectare of land devoted to vegetable production. They each received 4 to 5 bags of chicken dung, 2 packs Humus plus (soil conditioner), 1 pack Bio-N seed supplement and 1 to 2 packs of vegetables seeds of ampalaya, eggplant, cucumber, sweet pepper, string beans, pechay, kangkong and upo, depending on their land area.
