The award was given in recognition of the city’s outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to the effective implementation of the Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) Strategy, promoting responsible parenthood, strengthening family welfare, and ensuring access to family planning services that uplift the lives of the individuals, families and communities in the latest Ramon M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award held on October 22, 2025 at Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City.
In addition, Dr. Celestial C. Lianzon, City Population Officer- Designate was also awarded as 3rd Place for the Best Performing Population and Development Officer- City Level in the same category.
The Ramon M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award (RMSKPA) is a yearly recognition ceremony held to publicly recognize outstanding and significant performance and contributions of local government units, institutions, and individuals in promoting and advancing the Population and Development (POPDEV) Program and strategies in their localities.
Present were Dr. Celestial C. Lianzon, the City Population Officer-Designate and Mr. Danilo P. Antonio, Hospital Administrator of VMCHI, who accepted the award on behalf of Mayor Val.
