The City of Naga has been a long hub of major energy generator such as National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), SPC Power Corporation,  KEPCO-SPC Power Company,  and Therma Power Visayas Inc. (TPVI). The City of Naga is also the home to Apo Cement  Corporation (the largest in the country),  and other companies.  The city also offers opportunities in food processing: sugar-based foods, meat and fish processing. The City Government promotes the establishment of commercial complexes and tourist facilities that enables locals and tourists to come and see the city.

Naga is now famous for picture perfect peak and rolling hills and  a gorgeous boardwalk that attracts thousands of visitors. Indeed, the city is bound for greatness. City of Naga is located along the southern coast of the Province of Cebu. It is approximately 21 kilometers away from Cebu City and has a total land area of 10,201.84 hectares.

The City is bounded from the North by Barangay Tungha-an of Minglanilla, from the south by Barangay Pitalo of San Fernando, from the east by Cebu / Bohol Strait and from the west by Barangay Cantabaco of Toledo City.

In early times, the place now known as NAGA was abundant with trees locally called “Narra”.  The first settlers named the place as “Narra” (derived from the narra trees).

The City of Naga  has twenty-eight (28) barangays, eleven of which are located along the coastal areas, namely: South Poblacion, North Poblacion, East Poblacion, West Poblacion, Central Poblacion, Inayagan, Colon, Tina-an, Inoburan, Tuyan, and Langtad while the remaining barangays are located in the mountainous areas namely: Tangke, Na-alad, Mainit, Jaguimit, Patag, Cantao-an, Cogon, Uling, Balirong, Cabungahan, Bairan, Pangdan, Alpaco, Lutac, Tagjaguimit, Lanas, and Mayana.
